Juniors

As explained on the classes page, juniors train in the same classes as seniors.

All students under the age of 18 are considered ‘Juniors’. It should be noted, however, that we recommend a minimum age of 14 for any student.

Safeguarding

The Safeguarding Policy details our commitments and obligations to our Juniors.

Conditions of Membership for Juniors

The club requires that a parent/guardian must complete a Parent/Guardian consent form on behalf of their respective Junior, in person at the dojo, before the Junior is permitted to train with us.

  1. The parent/guardian must complete a new student form on the join page, then;

  2. Bring parent/guardian photo ID (driving license or passport) to the club dojo on the first night of training

  3. Complete a parent consent form with a club instructor on the night of training in order to complete registration

Training Rules for Juniors

  1. Junior students may only train with another Junior, or with an instructor (all our instructors are DBS checked). For this reason we ask that all Juniors attend with a training partner. The club reserves the right to limit or even refuse a student’s training if they do not have an appropriate partner.

  2. Some techniques are not suitable for Juniors (e.g. neck cranks or strangles). These should not be practiced by Juniors under any circumstance.

Junior Pricing

Juniors are required to pay the same class fees, membership fees and grading fees as seniors/adults.

Photography/Video

Capturing photography or video is strictly prohibited by Bedford Jujitsu. This applies to all members but is particularly relevant for the protection of our Junior students. On occasion, we do permit exceptions, but written consent must be granted on the day the images are captured, in advance, for every subject in the image, and for every device/photographer. Where Juniors are to be in the image, written consent must be provided by the parent/guardian.
